Following the unprecedented success of 3DT HK Special+ in Hong Kong, UM decided to bring more advanced enjoyment to Hong Kong users, launching the first pair of flagship headphones on the market that use a "bone conduction unit", which is named HK Special+ edition; Outside, it is fully sublimated.
This time, UM used anti-EMI carbon fiber material on MEST HK Special+. The finished product has the ability to resist shear and puncture, and has the characteristics of rigidity, lightness, and EMI resistance of traditional carbon fiber. There are various forms and sizes of bone conduction units on the market, and more manufacturers use them in the direction of full-frequency output. The actual results also reflect that these units have advantages in sound quality performance, which drives UM to apply this technology. After some attempts by the factory, they used a set of small, lightweight, and suitable multi-layer piezoelectric ceramic bone conduction units; the factory fixed the unit with a 3D printed cavity on the panel, away from other acoustic components , When the signal is input, the ceramic film drives the inner metal vibrating plate to bend, generating slight vibration and sound.
The bone conduction unit does not need a sound guide tube, is not sensitive to airflow, and the sound can be transmitted anywhere in the cavity, completely avoiding high-frequency noise interference, and the sound distortion is extremely low. UM allows the unit to work only at mid-to-high frequencies. One is to assist the transition of mid- to high-range units. On the MEST, the bone conduction unit has improved the density of the mid- and high-frequency bands, making the performance of the earphones not only full of hall, but can also fully express the gloss and vibration of the sound, creating a three-dimensional and deep music space.
The 10mm moving coil used by MEST has strong potential and flexibility, and a moderate sense of volume. It rushes to the user like a tide, creating a natural and deep atmosphere, making it easier for the user to indulge in the music.
UM also understands the importance of airflow to the iron earphones, so it uses the classic double pore structure on the HK Speical+ edition. One is used as the air return port of the moving coil unit; the other is a newly added pressure relief valve, which is connected to a sound guide tube with a metal pipe to discharge excess air, balance the air pressure in the ear canal, and enable sound transmission Smoother and improve wearing feeling.
In addition, the HK Special+ edition uses a titanium sound tube and a metal dust screen design to ensure the quality of sound transmission, and it is also convenient for users to clean the headphones.
MEST comes with a leather earphone bag produced by the Korean brand Dignis, using four different tonal blue leather materials, noble and elegant; there are adjustable intervals inside, both appearance and protection.
