The Typ821 is equipped with the completelynewly developed microplanar magnetic driver "Ortho". There are twotypes of planar drivers: push-pull drive type and single drive type."Ortho" uses a push-pull type. It is driven in a well-balanced mannerby magnets arranged so that five magnets are sandwiched in front and behind thefront and back of an ultra-thin lightweight diaphragm with coils printed on theμm order of the diaphragm.
The push-pull drive type is a driver withgood response by driving the diaphragm so that it is sandwiched between thefront and rear magnets. Therefore, it is an excellent driver with a very soundcharacter that expresses a glittering and delicate high frequency and powerfulbass. However, it is difficult to incorporate because it uses many small andpowerful magnets, and it was difficult to make it smaller and lighter for usein the size of earphones. Therefore, in the past, it was mainly used in largeproducts such as high-end headphones. In the newly developed "Ortho",experienced engineers of dynamic drivers have realized a high-quality push-pulldriver that can be used in the size of an earphone through trial and error.
Housing architecture "MIAA" andhighly controlled schematic design
In orderto increase reliability and maximize performance, the original housingarchitecture "MIAA: MADOO In-ear Acoustic Architecture" is adoptedfrom the previous model. All products are developed based on this architecture.
We callthe parts that store the driver an acoustic box. This acoustic box ismanufactured using a 3D printing process and has a complex acoustic circuitcalled a schematic design. Precision resin is used for 3D-printed parts, and bythoroughly curing pre-cure and post-cure curing processes in the manufacturingprocess, it is possible to manufacture very precise parts controlled at the 5μm level. This ensures that quality is strictly controlled, individualdifferences during manufacturing are suppressed, and users can enjoy the soundquality as intended in the design.
Sapphire crystal combines aesthetics and function
Thedesign concept of MADOO is inspired by the windows of submarines and clocks.This is because of the concept of earphones that can be used for many years. Wesearched for the right material for the window there and came across a sapphirecrystal.
Comparedto glass and plastic, sapphire crystal has a more transparent and beautifulappearance, and is also used in high-end watches. With a hardness of 9, it isvery scratch-resistant and has high heat resistance. For the concept ofearphones that will be used for many years, we thought that the best materialwould be to have heat resistance and corrosion resistance, which cannot beobtained with glass or plastic materials. In addition, in terms offunctionality, the structure brings out the performance of the speaker units bycontrolling the back pressure of the speaker units by the air gap systemprovided in the window.
Thewindow design of the Typ821 has also been redesigned as a second-generationmodel compared to existing models. As per the model number of the 800 series,"8" screws are impressively decorated, and the design is finished asa new face of MADOO, which is more reminiscent of the original concept ofsubmarine windows.
