Description

MADOO will release the Typ624, a limited-edition in-ear monitor (IEM) featuring the brand’s proprietary "Ortho" push-pull micro-planar magnetic driver, on August 28 for approximately 162,000 yen.

The Typ624 is a global limited release of 100 sets. It is intended for enthusiasts seeking a specific sonic profile, as the company claims this model synthesizes the dense, substantial bass performance of the Typ622 with the high-resolution, clear, and open-sounding high-midrange characteristics of the Typ821.

The housing is constructed from rigid aluminum using high-precision multi-axis CNC machining, featuring a sandblasted finish. The company states that this design choice improves structural integrity, which it asserts directly influences acoustic performance. The chassis incorporates a Mohs hardness 9 sapphire crystal window; beyond its aesthetic function, the manufacturer claims this feature helps control back pressure for the driver unit.

To ensure comfort, the brand designed the earpiece shell based on 300 ear impressions collected from individuals across Asian regions. The unit features an oval-shaped stem intended to fit the natural contours of the ear canal.  For connection, the Typ624 utilizes 4.4mm Pentaconn Ear connectors, which the manufacturer highlights for their contact density, durability, and ease of use compared to standard MMCX interfaces.

Each unit includes the MRC023, a four-core silver-coated copper cable supervised by the sister brand Acoustune, which the company claims is designed to minimize signal loss. The IEM has an impedance of 15Ω, a frequency response of 20Hz–40kHz, and a weight of approximately 40g including the cable.
