Description

The Typ821's sound signature isfaithfully inherited.

The goal of the 'Typ831' was not simply toreproduce the 'Typ821,' which garnered support from many audiophiles, but tofurther evolve its sound signature.
It inherits the vividly extended and brilliant high frequencies, the vocalexpression that makes you feel as if you're close to the singer's breath, andthe cool tone with clear contours. While maintaining that presence, it has beentuned to give more space around the sound image, allowing the performance spaceto expand naturally. It is a legitimate evolution of the Typ821, achieving abalance between the seemingly contradictory elements of "closeness"and "breadth."
Supporting this open spatial expression is a passive radiator positioned on theback of the micro-planar driver "Ortho Dual Motion." It preciselyadjusts the pressure inside the ear canal, suppressing the feeling ofconfinement and unpleasant resonance that often occur in closed-type earphones.By giving natural openness and clarity without cramping individual sounds, itachieves a wider sound field without sacrificing the presence of vocals.

The "Ortho Dual Motion" driverfeatures a gold-plated passive radiator.

The driver unit in the Typ831 is based onthe 12mm diameter microplanar driver "Ortho Dual Motion" used in theTyp930. It inherits the larger diameter vibration system and enhanced magneticcircuit from the 10mm diameter Ortho of the Typ821, and a passive radiator isplaced on the back of the Ortho.
In the Typ831, a special specification is used for the passive radiator, whichhas been treated with gold deposition. Gold deposition is a treatment also usedin measurement microphones and high-precision microphones. The passive radiatorconsists of a diaphragm made of a thin film of engineering plastic with golddeposition and a brass mass damper, which adjusts the pressure inside the earcanal to reduce the feeling of blockage and unpleasant resonance, and works tomake the sound field feel wider. The driver housing uses a combination of brassand stainless steel, and the internal structure can be viewed through thesapphire crystal window.

Pure titanium high-rigidity housing

Pure titanium is a material with excellentspecific strength and corrosion resistance. It also boasts excellentbiocompatibility due to the stable oxide film that naturally forms on itssurface. MADOO's 'Typ831' utilizes this pure titanium for its housing.
However, titanium is also a difficult material to machine, as heat tends toconcentrate at the tool tip during cutting, requiring meticulous conditioncontrol for precision machining. Machining a single housing takes approximately15 hours, and it is precisely cut from a titanium block using high-precisionCNC machining. After machining, each housing is hand-sandblasted by skilledcraftsmen, and then further treated with PVD coating to enhance the softsurface texture and sharp edges. Rather than relying solely on the propertiesof the material itself, high-precision machining and the housing's shape designensure both lightness and structural stability. The goal is to maximize thepotential of Ortho Dual Motion by providing a highly rigid foundation to supportthe speaker unit's vibrations. The housing shape incorporates an ergonomicdesign, developed by MADOO through its previous earphone development, prioritizing wearing comfort.

The polygonal design, a continuation ofTyp711 and Typ821, and
the theme color "Akatsuki Marine"

The 'Typ831' inherits the polygonal designcode from the 'Typ711' and 'Typ821'. The hexagonal windows, inspired by theportholes of a submarine, and the screws surrounding them, give it a mechanicallook befitting precision equipment. The configuration that shows the internalmechanism through the sapphire crystal symbolizes 'metal schematic design',which showcases the precise mechanism itself as an aesthetic rather thanconcealing the structure. The hexagon is a rational geometric shape found inhoneycomb in nature and in industrial structures. By combining a soft shapethat conforms to the ear with the geometric strength of an industrial product,it achieves both comfortable wearability and a visual identity that ischaracteristic of MADOO.
The theme color is 'Akatsuki Marine', inspired by the sea at dawn. Whilecontinuing the lineage of blue from the 'Typ821', it symbolizes a newbeginning, likening it to the start of a new day when the first light shines onthe sea. Inside the sapphire crystal window, a titanium ornament with a blueanodized finish is placed to create a deep, rich blue color.

Silver-coated copper wire 4-core cable

The included cable for this product uses a4-core cable with two silver-coated copper wires (2 cores x 2). This cablereduces sound quality loss, allowing the earphones to perform to their fullpotential. The connector uses the "Pentaconn Ear" IEM connector, designed and manufactured by Nippon DICS Co., Ltd., boasting high sound qualityand reliability. Compared to conventional MMCX connectors, the plug and socketmake closer contact, resulting in superior conductivity. It also achieves bothease of attachment/detachment and robustness.
This product comes standard with the "MRC023" 4.4mm 5-pole L-shapedgold-plated plug.
