To embody this legendary image in its new flagship, FlipEars built Arion around a foundation of a custom dynamic driver, SPARK electret electrostatic tweeter, and EarQuake bone conduction driverfor balanced, full-range performance. To this, the brand added three proprietary balanced armature drivers, enhancing midrange clarity and capturing richer musical detail — creating an immersive listening experience that feels like being in the heart of the performance.

Arion-Exclusive 10 mm DLC-Coated Dual-Magnet Dynamic Driver
The custom dynamic driver is engineered for deep, authoritative, and fast-responding bass. A diamond-like carbon (DLC) coating reinforces diaphragm stability for ultra-low distortion. The dual-magnet circuit further boosts responsiveness, preserving elasticity and layering even during intense, rapid double-kick drum passages in jazz or metal — laying the foundation for flagship-level sonic beauty.
SPARK Electret Electrostatic Tweeter
Unlike traditional electrostatic units that require external bias voltage, the SPARK tweeter uses a permanently charged electret diaphragm. This eliminates the need for a step-up transformer, delivering exceptional transient speed, airy highs, and expansive soundstage extension. Its integrated design ensures phase coherence, providing precise detail placement and reinforcing Arion’s signature sense of speed.
EarQuake Bone Conduction Driver
FlipEars’ in-house EarQuake bone conduction driver features a large-diameter design for greater excursion and broadband response. It significantly enhances spatial perception and dynamic impact. Operating across the full frequency range, it fills in detail clarity across all bands, resulting in sharply defined imaging and contours.
FlipEars Proprietary Balanced Armature Drivers
To elevate Arion’s versatility and emotional vocal reproduction, three custom in-house BA drivers are employed. Redesigned from the ground up in FlipEars’ own factory — including circuitry, diaphragm, and damping — these BAs retain the genre’s renowned transient speed while achieving smoother, warmer midrange response for richer emotional expression.
Arion-Exclusive Acoustic Chamber
Beyond the quadbrid configuration’s inherent balance, FlipEars crafted a dedicated acoustic chamber that stabilizes driver behavior and aligns all emission points synchronously — producing a vivid, lifelike sense of presence.
Handcrafted White Bronze Faceplates
A hallmark of the Armory Series is its jewelry-grade faceplates. Once again collaborating with artisans from Meycauayan — the jewelry capital of the Philippines — FlipEars selected white bronze for the panels. Each is meticulously hand-polished and engraved with a relief sculpture depicting Arion’s majestic form, with intricate lines conveying elegance and movement. The material’s high rigidity also enhances overall structural stability, preventing unwanted resonance even under the high excursion of the large bone conduction driver — ensuring pristine, high-fidelity detail retrieval.
Custom Eletech Cable
To fully unleash Arion’s blend of speed and power, FlipEars partnered with Singapore’s premier cable maker Eletech to develop a bespoke silver-plated single-crystal copper cable. It delivers dense yet textured performance across all three frequency bands, while the silver plating enhances smoothness and extension in the highs — further liberating Arion’s legendary velocity and strength.
Since 2012, FlipEars has been crafting custom monitors for performing musicians, giving the brand deep expertise in ergonomic shell design. This knowledge is fully inherited in Arion: gently curved contours allow the large-bodied IEM to conform perfectly to the ear, maximizing seal and fully exploiting the bone conduction driver’s potential for richer detail transmission. The internal large-bore, short nozzle further improves high-frequency extension and overall soundstage depth.
