Japan’s audiophile headphone brand final has launched its latest flagship true wireless earbuds, TONALITE. This model embodies the brand’s 50 years of acoustic research and nine years of exploration in wireless audio technology, representing the greatest technological breakthrough in final’s history of true wireless development.

TONALITE is built around the core concepts of “purity, delicacy, and realism.” It achieves unprecedented personalized Hi-Fi natural tonality through the lowest THD (Total Harmonic Distortion) ever measured in true wireless earbuds, a 10 mm f-CORE for DTAS dynamic driver inheriting technology from the flagship wired A10000, and the academically founded core technology D.T.A.S. (Digital Twin Audio Simulation), a digital twin–based acoustic simulation system.

“Purity”: the lowest full-band distortion in wireless earphone history

Before talking about tuning, the prerequisite is whether the driver and overall acoustic structure can first achieve “no inherent distortion.” The development of TONALITE is built on final’s long-term research into driver design and damping control, directly inheriting key technologies from the flagship wired A10000 to create an extremely low-distortion, highly consistent acoustic system.

Through newly designed drivers, housings, and tuning strategies, TONALITE achieves the lowest level of total harmonic distortion (THD) ever seen in the true wireless field. Its distortion curve remains extremely flat across the entire frequency range, approaching an ideal “straight line,” and maintains astonishingly low distortion even in the ultra-low frequency region, which is usually the hardest to control for headphones.

This kind of “purity” is not just about impressive measurements; it translates into an audible cleanliness with “nothing extra” added—

clean yet non-muddy bass, stable yet unagitated mids, and airy yet non-harsh treble—establishing a solid physical foundation for the subsequent “delicacy” and “realism.”

The 10 mm f-CORE for DTAS dynamic driver used in TONALITE is a new-generation unit redesigned specifically for true wireless architecture, built around the flagship pure-diamond diaphragm technology represented by the A10000.

“Realism” — D.T.A.S. Personalized Acoustic Technology for True-to-Life Sound

No matter how excellent the drivers and acoustic structure are, traditional headphones still face a fundamental problem: there is a huge gap between what they reproduce and what we are “used to hearing” in the real world. The reason is that the sound we hear in everyday life is completely different from sound that is played “directly into the ear canal” by headphones.

To close this gap, TONALITE adopts final’s latest-generation personalized acoustic technology, D.T.A.S. (Digital Twin Audio Simulation). It is the only tuning solution in the industry based on real human body scanning and modeling. This technology was developed from the academic research of final’s chief technical advisor, Mr. Kimio Hamasaki.

In August this year, D.T.A.S. was presented at an Audio Engineering Society (AES) technical conference held in Finland, where it was introduced to many of the world’s leading acoustic scientists and received recognition from the professional audio community.

How D.T.A.S. works: 3D scanning to rebuild your acoustic “twin” in a virtual world

Instead of traditional manual tuning, D.T.A.S. takes the most direct and scientific approach: it reintroduces the influence of your own body, head, and ear shape on sound into what the earphones reproduce, eliminating the “coloration” introduced by manual tuning and letting you hear the original truth of the music that belongs to you.

It is similar to crafting a pair of eyeglasses customized to your own vision so that you can truly bring an image into focus from the ground up.

For users who do not wish to do a personal scan, TONALITE offers a general tuning mode based on large-scale real human measurement data, further refined by final’s team in line with the brand’s characteristic musicality. D.T.A.S. Personalized (Personalized Mode)
After a simple scanning process, the earphones’ sound will come much closer to what you hear in the real world:
sound no longer feels confined inside your head, but naturally expands forward and outward;

the typical “headphone coloration” is greatly reduced.

Flagship-Class Active Noise Cancellation

At the heart of TONALITE’s active noise cancellation system is a flagship Sony ANC chip, paired with three high-precision MEMS microphones on each side to capture and process ambient noise in real time.

It comes standard with final’s in‑house–developed Fusion‑G triple‑compound eartips. These tips are made from three types of silicone with different characteristics, achieving both exceptionally soft, conforming comfort and outstanding passive isolation. They effectively block high‑frequency environmental noise, providing an excellent physical seal as the foundation for superior active noise cancellation performance.
