Crystal-Clear Mid-to-High Frequencies with Transparency

The DX4000CL not only offers an open-back-like soundstage but also presents remarkably crystalline and transparent mid-to-high frequencies. This exceptional performance is closely tied to the paper-carbon composite dynamic driver. By blending Japanese washi paper with carbon fiber in a precisely calculated ratio, final ensures the diaphragm combines elasticity with high rigidity — allowing it to reproduce clear, airy mids and highs while delivering powerful, impactful dynamics.

The free-edge (edgeless) design of the driver guarantees uniform movement across the entire diaphragm surface, even during large excursions. This fully utilizes the 40 mm area to create a monitor-speaker-class soundstage. At the same time, the even driving force further reduces distortion, resulting in rich realism — every instrument’s attack and every vocal articulation is rendered with lifelike authenticity through the DX4000CL.

Additionally, the driver frame is made from glass-fiber-reinforced resin, a material chosen for its high strength and light weight. This design evenly disperses unwanted driver resonance, delivering natural, precise imaging of vocals and instruments.


Flagship Cable

To complement the earphone’s tuning direction, final equips the DX4000CL with the same C093 silver-plated cable used in the flagship D8000. This cable leverages outstanding conductivity to enhance high-frequency refinement and smoothness of extension. The outer PVC sheath also effectively shields against external electromagnetic interference, allowing micro-details to emerge vividly against an inky-black background.


Rear Chamber Inspired by Real Acoustic Rooms

Beyond the driver itself, final draws inspiration from real acoustic listening rooms to design the rear chamber. Irregular patterns of varying sizes are incorporated to suppress unwanted frequency reflections, creating a pitch-black soundstage background while achieving harmonious, balanced overall presentation.


Lightweight yet Precision-Engineered Structure

To minimize overall weight, final selects aerospace-grade aluminum alloy for the housing. Its high rigidity and low mass not only suppress unwanted resonance but also ensure comfortable long-term wear. Components are joined exclusively using O-rings and precision screws — no adhesives are used. This showcases final’s meticulous craftsmanship while eliminating any potential distortion caused by the elasticity of glue.
